Cesky Krumlov is a small town dating from the middle
ages. It sits in the crook of two bends of the Vltava river and is dominated by the second largest castle in the Czech Republic.
The cobbled streets of the town centre are pedestrianised giving visitors full opportunity to enjoy the layers of history
visible in the architecture. There are many cafes, restaurants and bars, some on the river bank, in the cellars of the old
houses and on the pavements. Mobile phone coverage is good and there are several internet cafes.

The surrounding land is a mix of arable and managed
woodland with well kept paths and tracks for walkers. The river provides many kilometres of kayaking and rafting through hills,
gorges and forests. Boats and canoes are easily hired in the town, with pickup points at various stages along the
river. Nearby is Lake Lipno with more watersports facilities, and pony treking and winter skiing are also
available.
